This will greatly assist when you come to do Urban Sketching in pen and watercolour washes.
To understand perspective, you have to start with the horizon line, which is not just a line dividing earth from sky, it is the foundation from and to which everything is either physically or visually connected, making the objects we draw on a flat surface actually have depth and dimension.
