This workshop focuses on finding patterns of shape, tone, texture/marks and colour in the landscape.
We will produce four works. Inspired by each artist’s choice from the provided landscape reference images we will invent a shape pattern focussing on harmony and variety. We will then come back to our reference image and new shapes to create a tonal pattern in five tones, black to white, inspired by, but not copying, the reference.
Next, we will create a pattern of textures/marks once again referring to our original image but also using our memory of landscapes, imagination, and skills of invention.
Finally, we will incorporate what we have achieved in the first three works to create a pattern of harmonious and contrasting colours, aiming to create a balanced and interesting composition reflecting our response to the reference image and our memories and feelings about other landscapes.
Join this workshop and learn how to create these unique landscapes.
The fee is $90.
