Welcome to our new website!

Bill Bramley

I never knew I could paint, but in 2003 a friend said come with me to art class I need the company, 20 years later I am still going my friend gave up after 2 months.

I paint to relax, when things get tough picking up a paint brush seems to make everything seem normal again it is a great pastime for mental health.

I studied for 5 years under a tutor (john Perkins) a fellow of the Royal Art Society (currently president) a society in the past who had esteemed artists like Norman Lindsey.

I currently belong to the castle hill art society.

I paint for pleasure and hope some of that feeling shows in my work.

Art is joyful, annoying and frustrating but to turn an empty space into art is one of the most satisfying things I can do.

I paint in oils in a realistic style as I find oils very forgiving and I mainly do landscapes because when I was working, I used to travel to the country and I would see landscapes that a lot of people living and working in the cities would never see and I wanted to bring the country to them.
